Police dismantle gang that committed misdeeds in different areas of SD
Santo Domingo – Two firearms and a vehicle were seized, and several items of clothing stolen from citizens were recovered.
Police agents of the Department of Investigation of Crimes against Property (Robberies) of the Central Investigation Directorate (DICRIM) captured four of six members of a dangerous gang of robbers who operated in sectors of Greater Santo Domingo.
The detainees are Ramon Ignacio Castillo (a) Manauri, 37; Franklin Yadriel Mejia Tejeda, Edri Jose Reynoso Guzman; and Bryan Ariel Sala (a) Andri, the latter 18 years old, using arrest warrant No. 530-2024-EMES-00946. When searched, the four were found to have several records.
As a result of their separate arrests, two firearms were seized, including a revolver of the illegible brand, caliber 38mm, serial No. 266013, with four capsules, and a Zoraki M906 pistol, black, caliber 9mm, serial No. A3IZR3MYSO3-2300512.
They also seized a gold Toyota Corolla, license plate No. A438436, in which Castillo (a) Manauri tried to escape from the police authorities.
The detainees, when questioned, admitted that they are part of a gang dedicated to committing criminal acts throughout the greater Santo Domingo area, being identified by the complainants as the persons who robbed them of several 14k gold chains and cash, together with those nicknamed “Cabeza” and “Carnaval,” who,”are still at large.
Investigators also recovered several items of clothing that were stolen from their victims.
The detainees will be handed over to the Public Prosecutor’s Office for the corresponding legal proceedings.
