Punta Bergantín: government push inspires confidence in investors

Purto Plata – Andrés Marranzini, executive director of Punta Bergantín, revealed that the market study conducted for the relaunch of this tourism project had fulfilled expectations.

He stated that, from the product’s point of view, market studies have been carried out that allow him to ensure that the product they are incorporating within the property will cause the specific air demand stimulus.

“Only a project with sponsorship and sponsorship like ours can succeed in trying to reposition a tourist destination because no one would invest in a hotel that costs almost US$300,000 to build; this means that an 800-room hotel costs close to US$200 million to build and put into operation,” said Marranzini while participating in the Grupo Corripio Weekly Luncheon.

He expressed that the project is not sustainable without air traffic support since it must have quality occupancy. In addition, airlines place flights where there is room availability and consumption, which reflects the consequence of the transformation of hotels into apartments on the north coast of the Dominican Republic.

“What this transformation causes is that the real estate tourism product is consumed, but it has a different seasonality with respect to its use and a different demand with respect to consumption or demand for airline seats,” he pointed out.

He stated that it is not a scheme of a tour operator that has tourists arriving every three or five days. He expressed that only the government and the sponsorship of Banreservas allow to give comfort to a hotel investment that, without having the airplane seats, they are confident that they will come.

Punta Bergantín is strategically located, making it a very accessible and convenient destination. It is located just 15 minutes from the vibrant city of Puerto Plata, famous for its beaches, colonial architecture, and rich history. It is also 12 minutes from Sosúa, known for its paradisiacal beaches and friendly atmosphere.

Punta Bergantín’s proximity to the Gregorio Luperón International Airport, which is only 8 minutes away, facilitates the arrival of international visitors, offering optimal connectivity for those who wish to enjoy this tourist destination without delays.
