Victrola 037 Arte Café opens as new tourist attraction in Puerto Plata

Puerto Plata, DR.- A new cultural and culinary destination, Victrola 037 Arte Café, recently opened its doors along the Puerto Plata boardwalk. This inviting space is designed to merge art and gastronomy, creating a unique tourist experience. Featuring vibrant murals and functional areas, the venue showcases local art, culture and cuisine, offering memorable moments for visitors.

This new concept includes a locally produced souvenir shop and a restaurant offering a menu of traditional dishes made with fresh, local ingredients. It also features a bar with a variety of cocktails, coffee, and refreshing drinks.

Anthony González, president of the Caribbean Adventures Tours group, and Miguel Ramírez, operations manager, hosted a cocktail event for local authorities, tourism stakeholders, and the press to provide details about the newly inaugurated space.

González delivered a welcome speech, expressing his gratitude for the support received for the group’s initiatives, which aim to strengthen Puerto Plata’s tourism offerings. He also mentioned a proposal submitted to the Municipal Council to expand Las Chichiguas Street, a project that would enhance the attractions in the Historic Center of the city.

Ramírez spoke about the concept behind Victrola 037 Arte Café, sharing their excitement about adding this new space to their roster of experiences. “We are thrilled to introduce a venue that elevates Puerto Plata’s art, culture, and cuisine. We believe Victrola is a valuable addition to the destination’s offerings, increasing the number of ‘Things to Do’ in our Historic Center, while providing leisure areas and activities for our visitors.”

Ramírez highlighted that the venue’s concept is designed to spotlight the destination’s unique attractions. Visitors will have the chance to personalize t-shirts, hats, and cups, creating one-of-a-kind souvenirs developed by muralist Alex Jiménez (Letralex), who is responsible for the venue’s creative concept.

“Our project aligns with the Orange Economy, which seeks to generate economic impact by creatively leveraging and adding value to the cultural industry. With this establishment, we aim to bring together all actors in the sector, reinforcing the fact that Puerto Plata is an ideal place for investment,” he affirmed.

He further explained that the essence of Puerto Plata’s art will be prominently displayed throughout the space, depicted in murals that represent the destination, including images of the iconic Christ the Redeemer, the cable car, traditional merengue music, and other elements that reflect Dominican identity: “Good people and rich traditions.”

Victrola 037 Arte Café is located at the intersection of Gregorio Luperón Avenue and Padre Castellanos Street, along the Puerto Plata boardwalk.
