Abinader launches construction of Santo Domingo Oeste Cable Car
Santo Domingo.- President Luis Abinader unveiled plans for the Santo Domingo Oeste Cable Car, a $250 million project connecting six districts to the Duarte Highway. With seven stations and a 20-minute travel time, the system will accommodate 4,500 passengers per hour in each direction, benefiting 400,000 residents.
Additional initiatives include the ongoing cleanup of the Guajimía ravine, with 344 housing units provided for displaced families, and the construction of the Santo Domingo Oeste Judicial City, now 35% complete. This facility will span 24,795 square meters, housing courtrooms, detention areas, and offices for public legal services.
Road infrastructure upgrades are also underway, such as the Isabel Aguiar overpass and modifications to the 6 de Noviembre interchange. Completed projects include the reconstruction of Los Beisbolistas-Batey Bienvenido-Quita Sueño Avenue and Cordillera Avenue, all aimed at enhancing mobility and quality of life in the region.
