Dominican Republic to host 30th Anniversary Summit of the Americas event

Punta Cana.- The Dominican Republic will commemorate the 30th anniversary of the Summit of the Americas with an international event in Punta Cana on December 11–12. The gathering, organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MIREX), will reflect on the forum’s contributions to political dialogue across the Western Hemisphere.

The event, moderated by Foreign Minister Roberto Álvarez, will feature notable attendees, including former U.S. President Bill Clinton, under whose administration the inaugural Summit of the Americas took place in 1994. Other participants include former regional presidents, foreign ministers, the Secretary General of the Organization of American States (OAS), ambassadors, and high-ranking officials from the Dominican government.

This dialogue coincides with the Dominican Republic’s presidency of the Summit of the Americas mechanism and its preparation to host the 10th Summit in 2025.
