Puerto Plata sets record with dual cruise ship arrival at Taíno Bay
Puerto Plata.- Today, Puerto Plata achieved a milestone in the Dominican Republic’s cruise tourism industry with the simultaneous arrival of two ships at the Taíno Bay port. This event underscores the city’s growing prominence as a premier Caribbean destination, especially as the high tourist season begins.
The Dominican Port Authority (Apordom) celebrated the occasion, highlighting the arrival of the Oceania Sirena from Oceania Cruises and the MSC Seaside from MSC Cruises. On social media, Apordom emphasized Puerto Plata’s increasing role as a Caribbean Cruise Hub, noting that each ship visit bolsters its reputation and economic impact.
This achievement not only strengthens Puerto Plata’s standing in the region but also provides a significant boost to the local economy, reaffirming its importance as a leading tourist destination in the Dominican Republic.
