Fitur director: “Dominican Republic sets the standard with quality exhibits”
Madrid, Spain.- Maria Valcarce, director of the International Tourism Fair (Fitur) 2025, commended the Dominican Republic for its exemplary participation in the event. She highlighted the country’s strategic use of the fair’s opportunities, the quality of its stands, and its dynamic activities, noting that the Dominican Republic has consistently been a prominent presence at Fitur and served as a Partner Country in 2022.
Valcarce emphasized the significance of Pavilion 3 of the Americas, where the Dominican Republic plays a key role in strengthening ties with Latin America. She noted that Fitur 2024 hosted over 9,000 companies and 153,000 professional attendees, with a total of 250,000 visitors, including the public and professionals from 152 countries. For 2025, the fair aims to achieve qualitative growth, building on its already substantial scale.
Valcarce also discussed the integration of AI in trade fairs, highlighting its potential for enhancing customer service, generating recommendations, and improving user experiences. Additionally, she welcomed the growing presence of banks as exhibitors, acknowledging their crucial role in financing and facilitating investments in the tourism sector.
