FITUR 2025: Punta Bergantín signs hotel and theme park agreements

Madrid, Spain.- The Punta Bergantín tourism project has signed two key agreements during the 2025 International Tourism Fair (Fitur). One agreement, with the Velutini Group and the Excel Group, will develop a Westin hotel with 450 rooms in Puerto Plata, the first of its kind on the northern coast of the Dominican Republic.
The second agreement, with ITM, focuses on creating a theme park inspired by Dominican culture, folklore, and biodiversity, featuring entertainment facilities, an interactive aquarium, and beach access.
These new developments build on two hotel projects announced last year: a Hyatt-branded hotel and a Meliá-branded hotel. Punta Bergantín, a government-backed initiative supported by Grupo Reservas, will also include an 18-hole golf course, an academic campus, a film studio, and modern infrastructure.
The project spans 10 million square meters and aims to create a high-end real estate and tourism destination while preserving the area’s natural beauty.
