Tragedy at Jet Set nightclub: young woman dies after 46 days in intensive care

The Dr. Ney Arias Lora University Teaching Hospital for Traumatology reports that the 33-year-old woman who had been admitted to the health center after being injured when the roof of the Jet Set nightclub collapsed on April 8 died on Saturday night.

The director of Ney Arias Lora, Dr. Julio Landrón, reported that after spending 46 days in the intensive care unit with serious injuries to her pelvis, spine, and both upper limbs, and despite the health personnel doing everything humanly possible to save her life, the patient died.

Landrón said that the patient underwent massive transfusions with 17 units of blood and showed signs of recovery but then suffered massive pulmonary bleeding and cardiorespiratory arrest.

“We regret the death of the patient and thank the healthcare staff who did everything humanly possible to save her life,” said Landrón.

The young woman’s body will be handed over to INACIF for an autopsy.
