Carolina Mejía travels to Spain to sign Santo Domingo–Seville twinning agreement
Spain.- Santo Domingo Mayor Carolina Mejía is in Spain this week for a series of official engagements, including the formal twinning of Santo Domingo and Seville. The agreement will be signed in a meeting with Seville’s Mayor José Luis Sanz, and will also include participation from Dominican Ambassador Tony Raful and other Spanish officials.
Mayor Mejía highlighted that this partnership aims to strengthen the institutional framework of the National District and encouraged other Dominican municipalities to pursue similar collaborations to gain access to best practices and technical support.
Her agenda also includes a luncheon hosted by Francisco Herrero, president of the Seville Chamber of Commerce, and a visit to the General Archive of the Indies with Ambassador Raful. Mejía will also participate in the CEAPI 2025 Ibero-American Congress, a forum that promotes regional business leadership and development in Latin America.
