Iberojet launches direct Madrid–La Romana flights

La Romana.- On Saturday, June 20, Iberojet inaugurated its new direct flight route from Madrid to La Romana International Airport in the eastern Dominican Republic. The route will operate weekly until October, marking a milestone in enhancing European access to the region.

This is the first direct air connection between Madrid and La Romana, a strategic move that strengthens the Dominican Republic’s tourism sector and positions La Romana Airport as a key Caribbean hub. The flights will be operated with a modern Airbus A350, offering increased comfort and efficiency.

The new route builds on Iberojet’s success with its Lisbon–La Romana service launched last year and complements its existing operations in Punta Cana and the Riviera Maya. Airport officials expressed excitement over the partnership with Iberojet and parent company Ávoris Group, noting the route’s significance in expanding European tourism ties.
