Major anti-drug raid underway in Cotuí
Sánchez Ramírez, D.R.- Cotuí was the scene of a major security operation on Tuesday morning, involving helicopter patrols and a large deployment of police officers, prosecutors, and military personnel. The operation, led by the Attorney General’s Office under Judge Wilson Camacho, targets international drug trafficking and money laundering networks, according to RC Noticias.
Authorities involved include the DEA, U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), the Dominican Ministry of Defense, and the National Police. Though details are still emerging, sources confirm that several individuals have been detained and that authorities have seized vehicles, cash in both pesos and U.S. dollars, as well as other key evidence.
The Attorney General’s Office is expected to release an official statement as the operation continues to unfold in the Cotuí area.
