Government to present infrastructure project around National Botanical Garden
Santo Domingo.- The Dominican government will unveil the full details of a major infrastructure project surrounding the National Botanical Garden on Wednesday, July 23, at 10:00 a.m. The presentation, to be held at the garden itself, will feature officials, technical experts, and local community representatives. The event is open to the public.
Minister of the Presidency José Ignacio Paliza explained that the project is part of a broader effort to address traffic congestion in one of the most heavily affected areas of the National District. “Thousands of people spend hours in traffic every day. We must act with modern infrastructure that improves mobility and quality of life,” Paliza stated.
Paliza and Minister of Public Works Eduardo Estrella recently toured the area with a technical team. They emphasized that the initiative will be implemented with care and long-term planning, ensuring the ecological integrity of the park is preserved. “This is not just a mobility solution; it’s a project that respects and protects the Botanical Garden as the green heart of the city,” Estrella affirmed.
