Digesett officials visit Spain to boost road safety

Spain.- A delegation from the Dominican Republic’s General Directorate of Land Traffic and Transport Safety (Digesett), led by General Pascual Cruz Méndez, visited top security and mobility institutions in Madrid, Spain, to strengthen collaboration and share best practices.

During their stay, the delegation met with key officials to discuss road safety education, traffic management, accident investigation, and innovative technologies to enhance urban mobility.

The visit also included a tour of the Madrid 112 Emergency Agency and the Civil Guard’s Traffic Group, where topics like emergency coordination, rapid response systems, and international best practices were addressed. As part of the exchange, 40 Digesett officers will travel to Mérida, Spain, for specialized training in traffic-related areas. The initiative, supported by the IDB and the National Police’s International Cooperation Directorate, is part of Digesett’s broader plan to modernize operations and align with international standards for safer mobility in the Dominican Republic.
