Tourism minister launches major renovation of Playa Linda in Nizao

Nizao, Peravia, DR.- Tourism Minister David Collado on Saturday kicked off a project to renovate recreational facilities at Playa Linda in the municipality of Nizao, with an investment of more than 37 million pesos.

The initiative aims to boost the productive tourism sector in Peravia province by upgrading its recreational and service infrastructure. Minister Collado stated that the work is part of a broader plan to restore seafront public spaces nationwide, transforming them into attractive destinations for local tourism. “It’s time to start recovering public spaces and seafronts in this beautiful province of Peravia, and we’re starting here in Nizao, a land of hardworking people and great baseball players,” the minister said.

The project includes the construction of restrooms, pergolas, entrance portals, a 20-car parking lot, showers, and a pedestrian walkway. The plan also features lighting, signage, and new furniture, including tables, umbrellas, and chairs, along with landscaping that incorporates native mangrove, almond, and fig trees.

The work will be carried out by the Committee for the Execution of Tourism Zone Infrastructure (CEIZTUR). The groundbreaking ceremony was attended by provincial and municipal authorities, tourism business owners, and community leaders.
