Arajet adds 12th aircraft, named “La Caleta”

Santo Domingo.- Arajet celebrated the addition of its 12th aircraft, a modern Boeing 737 MAX 8, in an event led by Héctor Porcella, president of the Civil Aviation Board (JAC), and the airline’s CEO and founder, Víctor Pacheco. The new plane was named La Caleta, honoring the Boca Chica tourist and cultural landmark known for its National Underwater Park and ecological significance.

Pacheco highlighted that naming the aircraft after La Caleta reflects Arajet’s mission to connect the Dominican Republic to the world while promoting sustainable tourism and preserving the country’s natural and cultural treasures. Porcella emphasized that the airline’s expansion underscores confidence in the Dominican Republic as a regional aviation hub and its commitment to showcasing national attractions.

The government is actively working to modernize La Caleta, including renovating the Underwater Park and creating new recreational spaces for both residents and visitors. With this fleet expansion, Arajet strengthens its position as a key driver of air connectivity in the Caribbean, offering more routes, enhanced connectivity, and affordable travel options for passengers.
