Dominican Republic closes successful participation at Top Resa in France
Paris, France.- The Dominican Republic’s Ministry of Tourism (Mitur) concluded a successful participation as host country at IFTM Top Resa 2025, achieving significant milestones to expand French tourism. Led by Minister David Collado, the public-private delegation focused on a results-driven agenda, holding over 50 high-level meetings that strengthened commercial and promotional alliances and boosted air connectivity.
Key achievements include the agreement with Air France to resume direct Paris-Punta Cana flights in January 2026 with three weekly frequencies and an increase to nine weekly flights with Air Caraïbes, which will also launch service to Samaná. These developments are expected to increase connectivity from France by over 40% in 2026, attracting more than 200,000 French tourists and generating an estimated $230 million in foreign exchange, RD$2,318 million in taxes, and 22,929 jobs.
Minister Collado highlighted the mission’s tangible outcomes, emphasizing the promotion of established destinations like Punta Cana, Samaná, and Bayahíbe, as well as new destinations like Miches and the resurgence of Puerto Plata. The French market has already shown strong results in 2025, with 98,000 visitors, high satisfaction (83%), and a high likelihood of return (86%), demonstrating the potential for continued growth.
