Omara Corporán appointed Dominican Consul General in Chicago

Santo Domingo.- Through Decree No. 573-25, President Luis Abinader appointed Omara Josiel Corporán Castillo as Consul General of the Dominican Republic in Chicago, USA, making her one of the youngest Dominicans to hold a senior diplomatic position. At 27 years old, Corporán sets a new precedent in Dominican diplomacy.

Her career is marked by a dedication to social service, civic advocacy, and innovative public leadership focused on inclusion and modernization. The appointment reflects the government’s commitment to youth, gender equality, and innovation in the country’s diplomatic corps.
