Government opens agency to integrate Dominicans abroad

San Juan.- Dominican RepublicForeign minister Andrés Navarro on Sundayheaded ribbon cutting for the Dominicans Abroad Institute ´s (INDEX) firstoffice, in Puerto Rico´s capital, EFE reports.

The official alsovisited Mayaguez, a town on Puerto Rico´s west coast which many Dominicans callhome to explain INDEEX´s function to his compatriots.

Navarro said theInstitute forms part of president Danilo Medina´s new foreign policy aimed at helpingemigrants.

He stressed that thefirst office is aimed at protecting Dominicans abroad.
