Dominican Gov. hires former CIA to track down ´American Nickel Ltd.´

Santo Domingo.- TheDominican Govt. lacks accurate and conclusive data on the origin of the companywhich acquired a 100% stake of Glencore Canada Corp. in the Falcondo mine atBonao (central), and hired an international firm to delve into American NickelLtd, before issuing a mining permit.

Quoting a source outletelnuevodiario.com reports that although the contracted company wasn’t identified,it´s formed by retired CIA investigators. “These investigators must render adetailed report to Dominican authorities on who American Nickel Limited reallyis.”

Energy and Mines ministerAntonio Isa Conde has denounced that American Nickel has been "slow"in providing the documents Dominican officials have required as a prior conditionto authorize operations. “The reality is that the country and the authorities, know little about the origin of Falcondo´s new shareholders.”

Moreover there’s no referenceto American Nickel on the Web, presumably because it was recently incorporated.

The transaction citing thenew majority shareholders in Falcondo, one of the Dominican Republic´s largest mineslocated in Monseñor Noel province, was announced three months ago.
