Top Dominican prosecutor to probe alleged bribes ‘in due time’

Santo Domingo.- After days of apparent foot-dragging, Justice minister Francisco Dominguez on Tuesday said he’ll refer "in due time" to the opposition PRM party’s accusations of alleged bribes paid lawmakers to pass the constitutional reform which paves the way for president Danilo Medina’s reelection bid.

The official however didn’t specify the date on which he’ll address the scandal stemming from the alleged payoffs to legislators to vote for the Constitutional amendment.

"I, in due time, will refer to the issue," the official said when asked by journalists in relation to the complaints by the PRM, which on Wednesday requested a full investigation.
