LatAm, Caribbean ministers meet to boost integration, cooperation

Santo Domingo.- The 7th Meeting of the Communityof Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC) National Coordinators continuedto unfold in the Sheraton Hotel Thursday, with delegates from nearly all of theregion’s countries, an event that aims to strengthen the multilateralorganization.

Thirty delegations from the organization’s 33 member countriesare taking part in the conclave.

"We’ve received significant assistance from countriesthat actively responded to the call by the President Pro Tempore held by theDominican Republic, which has demonstrated the clear political will of thegovernments represented here, to renew the commitment to move forward togethertowards the achievement of our common goals," the Foreign Ministry said ina press release.

In the second day of the event CELAC’s nationalcoordinators have advanced the PPT CELAC-RD agenda and assess its development duringits first five years since founded, as a mechanism of integration, cooperationand political dialogue.

Delegates from Argentina,Antigua & Barbuda, Barbados, Beliz, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, CostaRica, Cuba, Dominica, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Guyana, Haiti, Honduras,Jamaica, Nicaragua, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, St. Lucia, St. Kitts & Nevis, Surinam,Uruguay and Venezuela particípate in the activity.
