Labor Ministry: Thursday is Corpus Christi, workers are off

SantoDomingo.- The Labor Ministry on Wednesday reiterated to the Dominican Republic’sbusiness community and workers that Thursday, May 26, is Corpus Christi, a religiousholiday which isn’t changed.

“The laborforce must return to their daily activities on Friday 27, as established by Law139-97, based on the application of the holidays,” the Labor Ministry said in astatement.

It said thecelebration of such dates is established by the Dominican legislation and allestablishments in the country should abide by it.
