St. Martin PM, US Labor Sec. arrive for Medina’s inaugural

Santo Domingo.- United States labor secretary Thomas Perez andSaint Martin prime minister arrived separately in Dominican Republic on Sunday toattend the inaugural of president Danilo Medina and vice president Margarita Cedeñoon Tuesday.

Perez, of Dominican origin, arrived on a American Airlines flightfrom Miami, and was received by US Embassy staff and Foreign Ministry officialsat Las Americas Airport.

Among the other countries who’ve sent representatives figureSt. Martin, Taiwan and Cuba, while the arrival of the bulk of the invited leadersand representatives from international organizations are expected to arrivetoday Monday

Among the presidents expected to arrive today figure RafaelCorrea, of Ecuador; Jimmy Morales, Guatemala; and Juan Carlos Varela, Panamaand emeritus king of Spain Juan Carlos and Nicolas Maduro of Venezuela.

Prime minister Andrew Holness of Jamaica and Gaston Browneof Antigua and Barbuda have also confirmed their attendance and are expected toarrive Monday.
