No funds to finish audits on Odebrecht projects: overseer

Santo Domingo.- Accounts Chamber president, Hugo Álvarez on Wed. said the technical and financial audits of the infrastructures built by Brazilian engineering company – Odebrecht- haven’t been concluded due to a lack of funds.

“If we had an adequate budget, I assure you that they would’ve been finished,” the official said in a meeting with the Senate Justice Commission to discuss a proposed amendment to Law 10-04 that creates the Accounts Chamber.

Quoted by diariolibre.com, Álvarez said the Accounts Chamber works “hard” to review Odebrecht’s works, but complained of its “indigence” and lack of adequate software to conduct the audit.
