30 packages of cocaine seized in pineapple crates at Punta Cana Airport

La Altagracia.- Agents from the National Drug Control Directorate (DNCD), together with the Specialized Airport Security Corps (CESAC), Customs inspectors, and canine units, seized 30 packages suspected to contain cocaine during an inspection at Punta Cana International Airport in La Altagracia province.

The packages, weighing about 33 kilograms in total, were hidden inside boxes of pineapples destined for export to Frankfurt, Germany. The seizure occurred during a warehouse inspection that uncovered inconsistencies in the shipment.

The Public Prosecutor’s Office and DNCD have launched an investigation into the case and will release more information as the inquiry advances, marking a significant disruption to an international drug trafficking attempt.
