Exporters hail Medina’s launch of the One-Stop Window

Santo Domingo.- Dominican Exports Association (ADOEXPO) president Sadala Khoury on Wednesday hailed President Danilo Medina issuing an executive order to create the One-stop Foreign Trade Window, which he affirms will spur the sector by placing more domestic products in foreign markets.

The business leader said from now on exporters will save be a considerable time and costs, since they’ll need certification just from one agency and not have to “stumble around six seven entities.”

He said although Adoexpo had long demanded the one-stop window, Medina gets the glory for having launched it, "which sends a most healthy and meaningful message to start the New Year."

Khoury said the process that took more than a week now take less than 24 hours, which facilitates and motivates exporters who’ll no longer cite an anti-export bias.

"President Danilo Medina pledged the soon to be created one-stop window during the recent exporter dinner on November 27 and later kept his promise with the signing of the decree announced by Customs director Fernando Fernández," Khoury said.

He said the one-stop window benefits exporters, will contribute to the balance of trade and, consequently, to transform the national economy.

In a statement, ADOEXPO’s President reiterated that the measure is an essential tool to expedite and streamline and develop the sector’s activities, and by including the business organization on the Board to launch the new Exports Development Bank (BANDEX).
