Telecom sales boost revenue 10.1% to US$6.95B

Santo Domingo.- The Internal Taxes Agency (DGII) collected RD$313.0 billion (US$6.96 billion) in 2014, or RD$28.0 billion more than the RD$284.6 billion in 2013, a 10.1% jump

In a statement released Wednesday, the DGII said it reached 97% of its revenue goal, of RD$324.2 billion. “The accumulated income in 2014 was aided greatly by extraordinary income from the sale of telecom companies and the Barrick Gold Pueblo Viejo capital gain.”

The DGII said Orange telecom capital gain contributed RD$9.2 billion, and a remnant of capital gains for RD$1.02 billion, whereas the also telecom Tricom contributed RD$947.0 million capital gain. Barrick provided an additional RD$1.63 billion, including income.
