Price of most staples unchanged in first half: Consumer agency

Santo Domingo.- The price on most staples went unchangedin the first half, according to consumer protection agency (ProConsumidor), whichnoted that some products rose in cost.

According to the semi-annual report of the agency’s PricingInspection Dept., of the 40 staples surveyed, 11 fell in price, 17 wereunchanged and 12 posted jumps from January 29 to June 30.

In a statement, ProConsumidor said the price on 17 productswent unchanged, or 57% of the number monitored.
