A sign of economic boom, beltways save time, money

Santo Domingo.- The major cities or provincial capitals havebeen gradually left off the beaten path of travelers using the beltways to headto all corners of the country and reveal Dominican republic’s booming economy.
The construction of safe roads to link the country’s resortregions with low operating costs for high mobility motorists and with tourismas the top source of foreign currency and jobs has been a government priority.
The beltways develop tourism especially domestic travelby shortening driving time and save fuel, with the most recent cases being the townsof Higüey, La Romana, Samaná, Bonao, La Vega and San Cristobal, whereas thoseof Santiago, and Santo Domingo are expected to be concluded in the next fewmonths.
