Dominican Republic Govt., big business agree to fight ‘smear campaign’

Santo Domingo.- The government of the Dominican Republicand the main local business organizations hired international PR agencies todefend the country and confront "the smear campaign for implementing theNational Plan to Regulate Aliens."
The announcement was made by the presidents of theNational Business Council (CONEP), Rafael Blanco, and of the Industries Association(AIRD), Campos de Moya, after a National Palace meeting with Presidency Administrativeminister Jose Ramon Peralta on Monday.
The business leaders revealed that four agencies -threefrom the United States and one from Europe- have already been contracted for thatpurpose.
