Drought´s impact on foods pace 1.72 % higher prices in Sept.

Santo Domingo.- The Central Bank January on Friday said September prices posted a "remarkable” increaseof 1.72%, paced by foods and non-alcoholicbeverages .

"The drought inthe country this year, considered the most intense since 1997, has beenaffecting the prices of the food and non-alcoholic beverage group,” with a 7.6%jump at the end of September.

It also reports a significantclimb on the price of fresh chicken(4.08%), plantains (6.82%), and cassava (yuca) (12.84%), adding that Sept. posted the highest jump in inflation this year.
