Agro hub to supply farm products to the ourism industry

Santo Domingo.- The MercaSanto Domingo agro distribution hub and Dominican Republic´s Hotels and TourismAssociation (ASONAHORES) on Wednesday announced the creation of a mechanism tolet the tourism industry buy supplies of farm products to serve tourists.

Merca Santo Domingo generalmanager Claudio Jimenez said through the agreement to be formally announced nextweek more than 100 trucks which comply with all international conservation standardswill be supplying hotel chains and restaurants across the country with theproducts they need.

Interviewed by elcaribe.com.do,Jimenez said it´s the national tourism industry´s interest, especially hotelchains and restaurants, to serve quality food to the millions of tourists whovisit the country each year.
