Full-day school program a ´victory in the fight against illiteracy´

Jimani, Dominican Republic.-Public Works minister Gonzalo Castillo said Wednesday that the full-day programlaunched by president Danilo Medina´s administration has spread throughout thecountry, and it´s a success is "a victory in the fight against illiteracy.”

Castillo spoke at the ribbon-cuttingof a daycare center in Jimani (west), and a school in La Descubierta, Independenciaprovince, both with 17 classrooms.

"In these schoolsstudents receive a dignified education and with high academic standards,ensuring a better future for all," the official said at the ceremonyheaded by Medina, adding that the two new schools guarantee an educated population.
