Group acquires firm manages 6 Dominican airports: report

Santo Doming.- French construction group Vinci SA Mondaysaid it has strengthened its focus on operating airports around the world withthe acquisition of Aerodom, which runs six airports in Dominican Republic, morningstar.comreports.

“Aerodom booked salesworth US$130 million in 2014 and holds the rights to operate the airports until2030, Vinci said. The airports received 4.3 million passengers last year,” theoutlet said.

Quoting a Vincispokesman, morningstar.com said the amount of the transaction is confidential.

“The group faces a slowconstruction market in its home country and has said it plans to expand inbusinesses abroad where it has identified growth opportunities, such as airportoperations,” the outlet reports, adding that the company already operatesairports in Cambodia, Chile, France andPortugal.

In Dominican Republic,Aerodom manages the airports Las Americas and Higuero, both in Santo Domingo; MariaMontez in Barahona; Luperon in Puerto Plata, and Catey and Arroyo Barril, bothin Samana.
