Dominican cocoa crop could double: Agranet

Punta Cana, Dominican Republic.- Agriculture minister AngelEstevez on Monday said the country is poised to raise cocoa production by 100%, Agranet.com reports.

“We have the ability to double cocoa production withinthenext decade," Estevez told the World Cocoa Conference, taking placein Bavaro, Punta Cana.

He said his country’s government is working with farmers toimprove the productivity of plantations, “so producers can all live in dignity.”
