New vehicle market grows in the country

The Cadillac brand has been reintroduced to the Dominican market with two new models: the XT4 compact SUV and the Escalade SUV.

The president of Santo Domingo Motors, Aníbal Rodríguez, highlighted the growth of the new vehicle market in 2022 concerning 2021, going from 26,579 units of new vehicles in 2021 to a total of 40,015 in 2022, which means an increase of 50 percent.

“Projections indicate that in 2023 this increase will continue with an estimated 141,871 new and used vehicles, which presents an increase of 11 percent at the end of this year,” said the executive in a meeting with the president of the General Motors automaker, José Francisco Garza.

Garza highlighted the growth of the Chevrolet brand in the country in the last five years. In addition, Garza is visiting the country in connection with the reintroduction of the Cadillac brand to the Dominican market by Santo Domingo Motors, with two new models: the XT4 compact SUV and the Escalade SUV in its regular and extended versions.

Traffic in many parts of the DR is abysmal. The last thing they should be encouraging the public to do is buy more vehicles and exacerbate the already overwhelmed transit of big cities like Santo Domingo.
