Dom. Rep. flap “all cleared up” Barrick Gold says
Santo Domingo.- Barrick Gold Pueblo Viejo Corp. on Friday affirmed that "everything was cleared up” after several of its executives concluded “a very cordial” meeting with Customs Agency officials, just two days after the unprecedented retention of a doré shipment to Canada.
Barrick Gold government affairs manager Mexico Angeles said Customs requested information, which he affirms the miner is willing to provide.
Customs director Fernando Fernandez headed the one-hour meeting in also attended by Barrick legal adviser Juana Barceló and Felix Caraballo, president of Alfamar Security Service, which transports the doré (gold mixed with silver).
