Santo Domingo.- Representatives of Stanley Consultants, which was in charge of the bidding process for the Punta Catalina power plant, on Friday denied having received any kind of bribe to select the Brazilian company Odebrecht, which submitted the winning tender offer to build the facility.

The executives held a press conference at the headquarters of the State-owned Electric Utility (CDEEE) where they provided details on how it carried out the selection process.

When asked about Catalina’s allegedly ballooned cost, the Stanley Consultants’ representatives said their company has managed several tenders for power plants, and the price offered by Odebrecht was similar to that of other generators with the same characteristics.
