Showers today, tapering off Friday

Santo Domingo.- The Emergency Operations Center (COE) on Wed. extended the flash flood and landslide warnings to 16 provinces, from rising rivers and streams.

It cautions the people living in the areas under alert to keep abreast of its bulletins to avoid loss of life and damage to property.

The National Weather Office (Onamet) meanwhile forecasts light to moderate showers with thunderstorms for the Northeast, Southeast, Central Mountains and border areas, tapering off today and Friday.

Onamet forecasts that the high temperatures will continue.
