Doctors go on a 3-day walkout with no dialogue in sight

Santo Domingo.- Dominican Medical Association (CMD) president Dr. Waldo Ariel Suero on Mon. announced a three-day walkout, the fourth since August, at the 191 public hospitals, but will attend emergencies and patients in serious condition.

The called strike escalates the standoff a while the Health authorities have failed to deal with the crisis expected to widen until after the CMD elections set for Nov. 8.

Suero said the CMD has been willing to dialogue with the Government, but Health Minister Altagracia Guzman told them through mediators that there’ll be no talks until after the guild lifts the walkout.
