President heads council of ministers to talk about citizen security and economy

Santo Domingo.- President Luis Abinader commenced a council of ministers meeting at the National Palace, starting at 10:40 in the morning. The meeting, initially scheduled for 10:00 AM in the Hall of the Council of Ministers, was attended by ministers and heads of various state institutions.

Under the instructions of President Abinader, Minister of the Presidency Joel Santos called upon the officials to participate in the meeting. The agenda for the meeting includes four significant topics of interest.

The session began with the opening of the meeting, followed by welcoming remarks from President Abinader. Minister of the Environment and Natural Resources, Miguel Ceara Hatton, presented the National Reforestation Plan, while Minister of the Interior and Police, Jesús Vázquez Martínez, discussed citizen security plans.

Next, Minister of Economy Pavel Isa provided an overview of the Dominican economy. Lastly, President Abinader addressed the approval of projects under the Zero Bureaucracy program.

Accompanying President Abinader were Vice President Raquel Peña, National Police Director Luis Alberto Then, and Defense Minister Carlos Luciano Díaz Morfa. In addition to the ministers, President of the Senate Eduardo Estrella and President of the Chamber of Deputies Alfredo Pacheco were also in attendance.

Other attendees included the administrator of Banreservas, the general director of Customs, the director of Pro Consumidor, the director of Banco Agrícola, the superintendent of Banks, the director of the National Health Insurance, the general director of Internal Taxes, and the director of the National Institute of Transit and Terrestrial Transportation.
