Tropical wave will bring moderate rains

Santo Domingo—A tropical wave passing over the country will cause moderate to heavy downpours, thunderstorms, and gusts of wind in the eastern portion, the Caribbean coastal coast, the northeast, the Central mountain range, and the border area.

The National Meteorological Office (Onamet) predicted that rains would be greater in intensity and frequency from the afternoon until the evening over La Altagracia, La Romana, San Pedro de Macorís, El Seibo, and Hato Mayor.

Also in Monte Plata, Sánchez Ramírez, Duarte, María Trinidad Sánchez, Monseñor Nouel, La Vega, Santiago, San Juan, Elías Piña, Santo Domingo and the National District.

Temperatures will continue to be hot, especially in Greater Santo Domingo, where the minimum will range between 24 °C and 26 °C and maximum between 33 °C and 35 °C.

The Emergency Operations Center (COE) alerted Monseñor Nouel, Sánchez Ramírez, Monte Plata, and Hato Mayor for possible flooding of rivers, streams, and ravines and sudden urban flooding.
