Retailers threaten to halt bottled water sales over sun exposure issue
Santo Domingo.- The National Central of United Retailers announced plans to stop selling bottled water if supplier companies fail to protect displays from sunlight, in line with a resolution from the National Institute for the Protection of Consumer Rights (Proconsumidor). President Ricardo Rosario urged water bottling companies to comply immediately or risk having retailers return their shelves.

So those water transport trucks will be covered to block the sun?, right ?
This whole exposure situation is the making of a mountain out of a molehill. From the time the supplier delivers water to stores and finally to point of consumer purchase is minimal. The turnover of bottles is quick, very little risk of sun contamination. Proconsumidor is being too cautious. The government agency should focus on stores selling homemade, clairin, that is where there is risk.
With the heat we get here you would be suprised the amount of microplastic and toxic chemicals that leech into the water. You never want plastic holding anything in heat.
