AI, disinformation, and the environment to be discussed at World Law Congress in Santo Domingo 2025
Santo Domingo.- The World Law Congress, set to take place in Santo Domingo from May 4 to 6, 2025, will cover a wide range of topics, including artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, human rights, disinformation, environmental issues, judicial independence, and corporate challenges. The congress will also honor U.S. Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor with the Peace and Freedom Prize.
Expected to attract 1,500 to 2,000 participants, including lawyers, judges, and experts from 45 countries, the event will feature around 300 speakers and panelists from approximately 70 nations. Notable attendees include former Colombian President Iván Duque, Dominican President Luis Abinader, and possibly King Felipe VI of Spain.
The Peace and Freedom Prize has previously been awarded to distinguished figures such as Winston Churchill, Nelson Mandela, René Cassin, Luis Almagro, and King Felipe VI. Sotomayor, the first Latina U.S. Supreme Court justice, will be honored for her contributions to law and justice.
