President Abinader reshuffles cabinet with appointments

Santo Domingo.- President Luis Abinader has renewed his cabinet, appointing four new ministers, one executive advisor, five vice ministers, and 18 directors and administrators in various public institutions. These changes, outlined in Decree 48-25, will take effect on February 26, 2025.
Among the major appointments, Luis Miguel De Camps García will replace Ángel Hernández as Minister of Education, while Rafael Eduardo Estrella Virella takes over as Minister of Public Works. Eddy de Jesús Olivares Ortega will lead the Ministry of Labor, and Roberto Ángel Salcedo Sanz will become Minister of Culture. Additionally, Ángel Enrique Hernández Castillo was named advisor on education policies in an honorary capacity.
Other key appointments include new deputy ministers for Culture, Foreign Affairs, and the Administrative Ministry of the Presidency, along with directors for OGTIC, INAFOCAM, INESPRE, PROPEEP, and DGAPP. Several leadership changes were also made in water and sewer corporations, education, and border security institutions. These moves align with Abinader’s strategy to refresh government leadership and enhance institutional efficiency.
