UASD secures funding for 21 research projects in FONDOCYT 2024

Santo Domingo.- The Autonomous University of Santo Domingo (UASD) has achieved significant success in the FONDOCYT 2024 call by the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology (MESCyT), securing approval for 21 research projects across various fields. This accomplishment reinforces UASD’s commitment to scientific research, innovation, and knowledge generation in the Dominican Republic.
The university’s rector, Editrudis Beltrán Crisóstomo, and vice-rector of Research and Postgraduate Studies, Dr. Radhamés Silverio, announced that the approved projects will receive RD$125,608,689.39 in funding. This investment will support strategic research initiatives that contribute to national development.
MESCyT officially notified the UASD leadership of the approval, following a rigorous evaluation process. Additionally, the principal investigators of these projects have been invited to present their research summaries at the XVI Seminar on Scientific Research and Technological Innovation, to be held on February 12-13 at the Universidad Nacional Pedro Henríquez Ureña (UNPHU).
