Made in DR Fine Arts Film Festival returns in April

Santo Domingo.- The fifth edition of the Made in the Dominican Republic Fine Arts Film Festival will take place from April 3 to 9 in Santo Domingo, featuring 15 local films, 18 short films, four featured films, and three panel discussions. The event highlights the growth of Dominican cinema, celebrating new stories and impactful productions.
The festival will open with La Bachata de Biónico, directed by Yoel Morales and starring Manuel Raposo, a bold reinterpretation of Romeo and Juliet. The closing film, Pepe, by Nelson Carlos De Los Santos, recently won the Silver Bear for Best Director at the Berlin Film Festival.
Screenings will be held at the Fine Arts Cinema Café at Novo-Centro, showcasing films such as Wifredo, The Day of the Storm, The Way Back, The Curse of Father Cardona, Dominicans at a Glance: Madrid, and Sugar Island.
