Dominican Republic set to begin table grape exports to the U.S.

Santo Domingo.- At the 2025 National Agricultural Fair, Agriculture Minister Limber Cruz announced that table grape exports from Dominican fields to the U.S. and other international markets will begin next week. The first shipments will depart from Guayubín and Montecristi as part of the Ministry of Agriculture’s efforts to introduce innovative crops.

Cruz also revealed plans to introduce 20 new products, including macadamia nuts, to boost both exports and local consumption. During a tour with journalists, he showcased the ministry’s latest advancements, such as an immersive virtual room, an in vitro production demonstration, and the Biovega micropropagation laboratory.

The tour concluded with a lunch featuring locally sourced dishes prepared by renowned chef Tita, highlighting the country’s agricultural diversity.
