Santiago Matías seeks approval for Punta Cana march to defend Dominican identity

Santo Domingo.- Businessman and journalist Santiago Matías, leader of the “We’ll Talk in 2028” movement, has formally requested authorization from the Ministry of the Interior and Police to hold a protest march on April 27, 2025, in Friusa, including Mata Mosquito and Punta Cana.

The demonstration, scheduled from 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., aims to promote Dominican identity, reinforce national pride, and uphold respect for the country’s traditions and patriotic symbols. Matías emphasized that the march will be peaceful and conducted in coordination with authorities to ensure order and safety.

Matías, who recently participated in the Ancient Dominican Order’s march in Friusa against irregular migration, continues to advocate for stronger national identity and immigration policies.
